Dr. Tariq MASOOD

  • Dr Masood (MBBS and MPH) started his career in Department of Health, Govt of Sindh as a Medical officer in 1999 and worked as Disease Surveillance Coordinator, District EPI focal person and SIAs focal person – for 5 years in Karachi.

  • Dr Masood was selected by WHO Pakistan as Surveillance OfJicer at Karachi for AFP surveillance and SIAs at district level in Polio Eradication Initiative.

  • Later on he was selected as Senior Surveillance OfJicer for Sindh Province and then as NPO in WHO – Overall worked for 9 years in WHO.

  • Dr Masood worked in PPHI, USAID’s DELIVER project and UNICEF.

  • He then joined JSI in Feb 2016 and led the immunization work in 16 districts during USAID’s Flagship program of MCHIP; led the development of detailed plan of improving RI in Karachi i.e. Roadmap to Achieve Universal Immunization Coverage in Karachi after extensive Jield studies and provided technical support to Sindh EPI.

  • He also worked as an International Consultant for Covid-19 Vaccination in WHO Sudan for 3 months as well as Quality Assurance Consultant for the training of newly hired Vaccinators for Covid-­19 vaccination in Sindh and Baluchistan provinces under Federal EPI (supported by CDC).
